The Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic Business Development Manager to drive growth at the intersection of electric utilities, advanced grid technologies, and telecommunications. Following recent success in fiber design projects, you will lead the charge in modernizing the electric grid. This is a high-impact role where you will own executive relationships and position the organization as a trusted partner for distribution modernization.
The Location
This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States, with the exception of California, New York, and Michigan. If you are located near a Delivery Center, a hybrid work model is also available. Please note that this role requires U.S. Citizenship and a willingness to travel up to 50% for customer engagement and industry events.
What You Will Do
Own and grow strategic relationships with electric utilities, cooperatives, and municipalities to drive revenue growth.
Identify and qualify new business opportunities in grid automation and utility communications networks.
Lead the pursuit lifecycle, from initial opportunity strategy and positioning to proposal coordination and executive engagement.
Represent the organization at industry conferences and technical forums to uncover emerging trends and expand market visibility.
Collaborate internally with the Grid Automation team to shape technical offerings that meet competitive market conditions.
90-Day Success Roadmap
Day 30: Complete onboarding and master the current fiber and grid automation service offerings.
Day 60: Build a pipeline of qualified leads through outreach to utility executives and tech partners.
Day 90: Lead multi-stakeholder proposals and provide accurate revenue forecasting for the territory.
