The Opportunity
This is a critical, high-impact role supporting the company's accelerated expansion. The Key Account Specialist (KAS) function is significantly enhanced to better manage and grow existing large municipal and private water utility accounts. The KAS's core purpose is to ensure full customer support post-sale, allowing Regional Sales Directors to focus on new business. You will proactively manage relationships, drive customer satisfaction, and identify opportunities for upselling and expansion. This is a chance to be a key player in a growing, well-funded organization and help build a new, essential program from the ground up.
What You Will Do
- Serve as the daily primary point of contact for key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and reference-worthy relationships.
- Proactively identify revenue growth opportunities within existing accounts through account analysis and usage trends.
- Develop account-specific growth strategies focused on solution bundling, upsells, and cross-selling new services or subscriptions.
- Collaborate deeply with internal regional sales, operations, technical support, and finance teams to coordinate resolutions and meet client needs.
- Support the sales process by assembling quotations, proposals, product capability booklets, and account analyses.
- Ensure coordination of all communications and activities for assigned accounts, including face-to-face meetings as defined by the program.
- Translate customer challenges into commercial opportunities by mapping solutions to measurable outcomes like cost savings and efficiency.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and gather feedback to drive high retention rates and renewals.
- Assist in meeting Key Account objectives and quotas while ensuring compliance with strategic selling milestones.
- Coordinate training needs and support the adoption of the company’s product and software solutions.

- Proven ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.
- Strong collaborator with a team-first mindset and the ability to work across various departments.
- Highly organized and proactive with strong priority management skills to handle changing conditions.
- Self-motivated and "moldable" professional who is eager to learn and grow within the water industry.
- Comfortable with approximately 50% travel for face-to-face client introductions and ongoing relationship management.
- Possesses "grit" and the flexibility to adjust hours based on specific customer needs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Asana.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for required travel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, or an equivalent field is required.
