Business Development Manager - Trench

Responsibilities:
  • Building a comprehensive business development plan and growth strategy with targeted goals, objectives, methods, timelines, and quantifiable outcomes centered on both financial gain and customer satisfaction.
  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Generating business leads for operational partners through lead sharing, sales campaigns, and customer referrals.
  • Fostering and developing relationships with new and existing customers/accounts through sales calls, virtual, and in-person business meetings.
  • Attending industry trade shows, company-sponsored events, and conferences to network with fellow rental professionals and learn new and innovative ways to support company growth.
  • Collaborating with Operations, Fleet, Finance, and other operational partners as needed to ensure a best-in-class customer experience.
  • Creating business reports that provide insight into key data points including but not limited to sales reports, call reports, expense and territory summaries, and financial forecasts.
  • Leveraging CRM database to track potential customer/account activity, evaluate key data points, and develop sales strategies.
  • Maintaining a diverse book of business that includes a range of contractors, across all lines of business.
  • Meeting or exceeding key business development KPIs including sales targets and profitability objectives.
  • Performing all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook with emphasis on PowerPoint and media presentations.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and execute to meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong Trench Safety product knowledge, problem-solving skills, and knowledgeable in OSHA CFR-Part 1926 requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record in transactional sales and relationship building in diverse selling environments with high volume accounts.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% and work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to company sites in-state and/or out-of-state as needed.
  • Frequently standing, talking, walking, sitting, lifting, twisting, bending, and using repetitive motions.
  • Preferred Requirements:
    • Knowledge/experience in construction, manufacturing, or distribution industry.
    • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in outside sales or demonstrable ability to be successful in sales.
    • Knowledge/experience with Salesforce.com or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
Education:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
