Senior Accountant

Naviga has been retained to find a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Location:  On-site:  Tarpon Springs, FL

Responsibilities:  
  • Perform general accounting duties including journal entries, account reconciliations, billing, and inventory tracking.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, perform bank reconciliations, and support financial reporting using QuickBooks, with the potential to take on additional day-to-day leadership responsibilities over time.
  • Analyze monthly financial statements and prepare internal reports including KPIs.
  • Support project accounting and percentage-of-completion reporting for construction/service jobs.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for accounting and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with field operations, management, and external partners.
  • Handle business administration functions as needed, including audit support and compliance.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and accountability in all financial documentation.
  • Work onsite full-time, with occasional overtime during peak periods.
 
Requirements:
  • Proven general accounting experience, preferably in construction or service trades with a very strong understanding of credits and debits. 
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop Pro and Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and IF statements.
  • Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion and project-based (job cost) accounting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive problem solver with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to commute daily to the on-site location (must be within 45 minutes one-way).
  • Experience as a lead is preferred but not required. 
Education: Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
