Title: Employment Associate

Location: Hybrid - Austin or Dallas, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Handle litigation management, legal research, and drafting for class action and single-plaintiff cases related to wage and hour issues, misclassification, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract, and wrongful termination.
  • Provide employment law advice and counsel on topics such as restrictive covenants, employee mobility, compensation practices, employee policies, and leave/accommodation (FMLA, ADA) issues.
  • Draft and negotiate employment agreements, termination/severance agreements, and related documents.
  • Advise clients on employment aspects of corporate transactions and conduct employment due diligence.

Requirements:
  • Licensed to practice in Texas.
  • 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, including litigation, advice, and counsel, as well as transactional work.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws, including wage and hour laws and discrimination laws.
  • Experience defending class and collective actions and supporting complex corporate transactions.
  • AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Strong business judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, persuasive communication, and management skills.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and third parties both verbally and in writing.
  • Produce timely, accurate, and high-quality work products.
  • Meet deadlines and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Foster positive work relationships and comply with firm policies and practices.
Education: 
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a nationally ranked law school.
